Rector of Kayseri University (KAYÜ), Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, issued a message on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Rector Karamustafa emphasized in his message that May 19, 1919, was an important turning point in the national struggle, highlighting that with the belief and efforts of the people, the liberation struggle initiated by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on May 19, 1919 in Samsun reached its conclusion, declaring to the whole world that the Turkish Nation would live forever free and independent on its homeland. Rector Karamustafa stated the following in his message: ‘May 19, 1919, is not only important in terms of our national struggle history, but also holds great significance as Atatürk gifted this date as a holiday to Turkish youth. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk not only showed his trust and belief in our youth by gifting May 19, 1919, as a holiday, but also entrusted our youth with an important task, emphasizing that Turkey’s development, progress, and becoming a significant power in the world can only be achieved with hardworking, productive, national and spiritual values-oriented, knowledgeable, skilled, self-sacrificing youth. Today, by giving more importance to our youth, we must ensure that they are aware that the strong and great future Turkey will be shaped by the hands of our youth and they should never give up on this. We should support the creation of confident, hardworking, goal-oriented young generations who will embrace the future goals of our country and strive for them. We have full confidence that our country will reach better tomorrows with our patriotic, flag and call to prayer-loving, national and spiritual values-oriented, hardworking, and productive youth. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate our entire nation on the May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and send my greetings and love to all our youth. Furthermore, I remember with mercy, prayer, gratitude, respect, and thankfulness the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as our dear martyrs who sacrificed their lives to make these lands our homeland, and our veterans who have passed away to eternity. Happy May 19th, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
