Operating with the motto of always reaching for the better, Kayseri University is also accelerating its efforts in internationalization, accreditation, and quality improvement. These efforts contribute to Kayseri University’s goal of becoming a recognized and preferred educational institution both nationally and internationally.
On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of Kayseri University, Rector Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, who issued a statement, noted that although Kayseri University can be considered a relatively new educational institution, it has made significant progress in a short time and has achieved many of its goals planned for the future. Rector Karamustafa emphasized that these achievements are the result of dedicated work carried out in line with the university’s vision and mission.
In his statement issued on the occasion of the 6th anniversary, Rector Karamustafa said, ‘At its establishment, our university had 4 faculties and 11 vocational schools, and today, with the newly established faculties and vocational schools, we have reached 5 faculties and 12 vocational schools. With Kayseri University being among the universities where the new faculties and vocational schools to be established in the fields of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and big data, as announced by our Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar recently, the number of faculties has increased to 6 and the number of vocational schools to 13. With the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences and the Information Technologies Vocational School, our university will be frequently mentioned for its education and scientific studies in the fields where today’s technology is heading.’
Rector Prof. Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa continued his words as follows:
‘Kayseri University takes solid steps towards the future, determines its strategy well, plans well, and has a structure that takes into account the needs of the city and the country in the new departments and programs it opens. Therefore, the fields in the programs offered are mostly those needed by sectors. Our Kayseri University, which operates in constant integration with industry and the sector, prepares its students for the future in programs that can be described as guaranteed employment with the OSB Vocational School it successfully implemented in the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone. Currently starting education with three programs in the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone Vocational School, the number of programs will be increased in the coming years. In addition, we will continue our efforts to expand OSB Vocational Schools in other OIZs in Kayseri. We can say that progress is gaining momentum in the Kayseri University Kayseri OIZ Technical Campus, which we attach importance to as Kayseri University. Our OIZ Technical Campus, which will include our Faculty of Engineering and Design and OSB Vocational School buildings, will be an important educational investment for Kayseri within the industry. This campus will allow our students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical applications through an education model integrated with the industry and will play an important role in meeting the region’s technical personnel needs. In short, summarizing the past six years, we can comfortably say that with the rising development trend of Kayseri University each year, it deserves to be among the prominent universities in vocational and technical higher education in Turkey. The significant progress and successes achieved in the short term send positive messages to us for the future of our university. Kayseri University will continue to be a university that adds value to its city and country in the future vision and goals of our country. This success has been possible thanks to the strategic planning and dedicated work of our university. We believe that we will achieve even greater successes by moving forward on this path. With all these opportunities, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has worked diligently, especially to all university members and students who have worked with dedication since our establishment six years ago. With these feelings, we express our gratitude to our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as to our President of the Higher Education Council and members of the YÖK, ministers who have provided continuous support to us since our establishment, our deputies, our political will, our Governor and bureaucracy, our city’s valuable administrators, politicians, and bureaucrats, our philanthropists, our mayors, our non-governmental organizations, our state institutions and organizations, our fellow citizens, and all our citizens.
