Children experience campus life with the Children’s University project

With the ‘Child University’ project in Samsun, young students attended classes at the faculty and experienced campus life. The ‘Child University’ project, implemented by Samsun University Young Red Crescent Community, was successfully completed. The project aimed to help children and youth acquire awareness of the Red Crescent at an early age, engage in voluntary work, and set new goals in their lives. In the project, 36 students from Hasköy Middle School affiliated with the Canik National Education Directorate visited Samsun University for two days and were hosted by the SAMU Young Red Crescent Community volunteers at Canik and Ballıca Campuses, where faculties of social sciences, architecture and design, medicine, engineering and natural sciences, as well as the civil aviation school are located. They visited the English translation laboratory in the translation and interpretation department, the anatomy laboratory in the medical faculty, observation-interview rooms and psychology laboratory in the psychology department, simulation room and hangars in the aviation academy, classrooms in the architecture faculty, and attended classes in the engineering faculty. Additionally, the children toured the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Central Library and were enlightened through seminars in the mobile cinema on the importance of Red Crescent activities and first aid. At the graduation ceremony, the young graduates were awarded certificates and gifts at the Nuri Demirağ Conference Hall in Ballıca Campus.
