Amendment to the plan for Izmir Metropolitan Municipality main service building

The plan amendment prepared for the reconstruction of the main service building of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which was damaged in the earthquake that occurred on October 30, 2020 and decided to be demolished in 2022, to be built in its old location was approved at the municipal council meeting. The Izmir Metropolitan Municipality council held its third ordinary council meeting in May at the Culture Park Hall No. 4 under the chairmanship of Acting Council President Altan Inanç. A significant step was taken for the reconstruction of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s main service building, which was destroyed due to damage after the earthquake in Izmir on October 30, 2020. A plan amendment was made to rebuild the building at its current location in Konak Ataturk Square. The plan amendment voted on in the council will be submitted to Izmir 1st Cultural Assets Preservation Regional Board as the area is a protected site. If approved by the board, the Metropolitan Municipality’s main service building will be rebuilt in its old location.
People over the age of 30 will not be eligible for student discounts. In the council, an important change was made to the Izmirim Card Regulation. The motion regarding the regulation draft passed in the council by majority vote. According to the decision, only citizens under the age of 30 will be eligible to use student cards on public transportation. People over the age of 30 will not benefit from student discounts. These individuals can continue to use their student cards, but they will be charged the full fare from their cards.
New personalized Izmirim Cards will not be issued to those who do not comply with notification decisions. Changes were made to the article regarding the use of personalized Izmirim Cards by others. Accordingly, if non-compliance with the notification obligation leads to the first determination of unauthorized use by another person, the card will be closed for 4 months, for the second determination it will be closed for 8 months, and for 3 or more determinations, it will be closed for 12 months. New personalized Izmirim Cards will not be issued to those who do not comply with notification decisions.
