A swearing-in ceremony for 8 disabled individuals in symbolic military service was held at the Didim Garrison Command as part of the Disabled Week. After the swearing-in ceremony, the disabled individuals were presented with discharge documents, plaques, and gifts.

The ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the national anthem, began with an opening speech by Garrison Commander Colonel Ali Saçan. In his speech, Colonel Saçan stated, ‘The Turkish nation, from young to old, men and women, has been a nation of soldiers from ancient times to eternity. It has proven this to the whole world with the states and empires it has established. Today, our special-hearted comrades who have joined us are the finest example that the Turkish nation does not recognize any obstacles when it comes to homeland defense and military service. Thanks to this belief and spirit, our glorious flag has waved in the sky, is waving, and will wave forever. Dear comrades, welcome to this bastion, to this sacred ground. You are the pride of our ancestors who rest in the Anatolian lands, every inch of which is soaked with the blood of our forefathers, without shroud or tombstone. Today, leaving all obstacles behind, you have come here with love for the flag and the homeland. This belief is our greatest driving force. We owe a debt of gratitude to the esteemed parents and families of these special and brave comrades who have joined us to perform military service. You instilled this love for the homeland and flag in these special individuals. We can never thank enough to all parents who, like you, sent their beloved ones to serve in the military. If we live freely and independently on this land, if our glorious flag waves above us, we owe it to our martyrs, heroes who sacrificed their lives, and our ancestors who laid down their lives for this homeland, especially Atatürk and his comrades. On this occasion, I express our gratitude and extend our condolences to our martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Çanakkale, Galicia, the Arabian Peninsula, Korea, Cyprus, and in counter-terrorism operations, as well as to our veterans who have passed away.’

District Governor Can Kazım Kuruca, in his speech, said, ‘We are fortunate that with this army born from the heart of this nation, we have integrated in a way that no other state or nation in world history has ever experienced, as one heart, one piece. Today, just like throughout history, men and women of all ages are always ready to sacrifice our lives for our homeland, ready to drink the sherbet of martyrdom for our flag and our nation. Like us, these eight lion-hearted, barrier-breaking soldiers will be a part of this glorious army today. Congratulations to them, congratulations to their precious families who raised them. You all are welcome to this beautiful ceremony where these lion-hearted soldiers will be a part of this glorious army, you honor us.’

Following the speeches, a swearing-in ceremony was held for the 8 disabled soldiers. After the oath ceremony, the soldiers were presented with discharge documents, and then various institutions and chambers congratulated the disabled soldiers by giving them various certificates and gifts.

Various competitions held during the Lamb Days also provided colorful scenes. In the event where soldiers stationed at the Garrison Command competed, awards were given to the winners. District Garrison Commander Saçan presented a thank you plaque to the institutions and organizations that supported the event.

The ceremony at the Didim Garrison Command was attended by District Governor Can Kazım Kuruca, Garrison Commander Colonel Ali Saçan, Mayor Hatice Gençay, District Gendarmerie Commander Captain Mustafa Gani Solak, District Police Chief Yunus Dinç, President of the Didim Disabled Association Resul Yazıcı, Chamber and NGO presidents and executives, some village headmen, families of disabled individuals, and other guests.
