MHP’s Ozdemir: ‘This election is not a reckoning for Pinarbasi’

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman and Kayseri Deputy Ismail Ozdemir participated in election campaigns in Pinarbasi. Speaking about the upcoming elections to be held on June 2 in the district, Ozdemir stated, ‘This election is not a reckoning election for Pinarbasi, and it should not be. This election should be a competition in service.’ MHP Deputy Chairman and Kayseri Deputy Ismail Ozdemir, along with MHP Deputy General Secretary Tamer Osmanagaoglu, Kayseri Deputy Baki Ersoy, Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Buyukkilic, and party members, met with muhtars and citizens in Pinarbasi. ‘We have clearly received your message,’ Ozdemir said in Pinarbasi, expressing that they are candidates for duty with renewed staff on June 2, ‘I thank Allah for the gathering in Pinarbasi, where we are devoted and belong with such a broad delegation. However, I also want to share my sadness with you. I wish it hadn’t been like this, and the elections had been completed with the will of the people of Pinarbasi on March 31. But there is good in this. We are all prepared together for the upcoming elections to be held on June 2, which were canceled and renewed by the Supreme Election Council due to irregularities in the elections. In this process, we are here before you. In such a period, we have clearly received the message from the people of Pinarbasi to the People’s Alliance and the Nationalist Movement Party. In this context, together with our Pinarbasi Mayor Mr. Menduh Uzunluoglu and colleagues, we will enter the June 2 elections with renewed and more dynamic staff. We will strive to contribute and provide new projects that will add value to Pinarbasi with these renewed staff.’ Ozdemir continued his statement with the following remarks: ‘While I am here, I cannot help but mention something. Because it is the direct order of our chairman. In this regard, our chairman wants the people of Pinarbasi to be reassured. Our chairman’s full attention and hand are also on Pinarbasi. God willing, in the elections to be held on June 2, as the People’s Alliance and the Nationalist Movement Party, together with our Mayor Menduh Uzunluoglu, we are candidates for service again. We see these elections as a competition in service. It should be like that. Mayor of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Memduh Buyukkilic, constantly comes and goes to Pinarbasi. Asking what can we do for Pinarbasi, what can we provide, what problems can we solve. We all know what they are. Some of our villages have road problems. Some of our villages have sewage problems. How can we solve all of these. How can we overcome them at once. We are in the hustle of how we can elevate Pinarbasi to the level it belongs. In this regard, we are in search of how we can make an effort to overcome it. Until now, we have seen Pinarbasi as the center of Turkey and even Turkishness. As you know, at the entrance of our district, there is a Turkism Monument built by our Chairman. From one end to the other of Anatolia, the intersection point is Pinarbasi. Therefore, this place is the center. The voice rising from Pinarbasi, the stance, and harmony of Pinarbasi are the voice of Turkey. It is the harmony and stance of Turkey. At this point, the Nationalist Movement Party has taken the service to Pinarbasi, which is also the ancestral land of our late leader Alparslan Turkes, to a different level. We know the process of building dams that provide a tremendous contribution to local development, especially for agricultural and electricity production. When we were a coalition partner in 1999, in the 57th Government, during the period when our Chairman served as Deputy Prime Minister, the necessary budget was allocated from the Turkish Promotion Fund for the completion of the Bahceci Dam, and it was completed when the AKP came to power. Agricultural activities in these fertile lands are now taken to a much higher level.’ ‘This election is not a reckoning election for Pinarbasi’ Ozdemir pointed out that some CHP executives made regrettable statements to confuse Kayseri and Pinarbasi, saying, ‘I am very sorry to say, unfortunately, there is a mindset that turns these elections into a reckoning. This election is not a reckoning election for Pinarbasi. It should not be. This election should be a competition in service. This election is the choice of the people who have proven their competence in serving Pinarbasi against the other side. We are before you with the fact that we have proven our competence in serving Pinarbasi. After the March 31 elections, some CHP executives came to Kayseri and Pinarbasi, threatening Pinarbasi, Kayseri, and Turkey. As a son of Pinarbasi, I do not accept the statement of the CHP Group Deputy Chairman saying that if the elections in Pinarbasi are like this, we will bring 10 thousand people. Pinarbasi is a very valuable land where the noble and original children of the Turkish nation live. The people of these lands know very well how to express their will in what matter. Therefore, the statements of those who threaten with bringing this or that from outside have no value in your eyes, and I believe that our respected fellow citizens of Pinarbasi will respond to them with their democratic will in the ballot boxes on June 2.’ ‘Sentences given to Kobani defendants are insufficient’ Regarding the Kobani trial, Ozdemir said, ‘Yesterday, a trial concluded. Unfortunately, in the matter known as the Kobani trial, in 2016, some people in Turkey unfortunately, the political extensions of the terrorist organization, in cities including the eastern and southeastern Anatolia, Ankara, Izmir, and Mersin, terrorized the city centers by burning and demolishing them, trying to disrupt the peace of our citizens. They did their best to divide the nation, to make enemies. Thankfully, Turkish justice made its decision on this. The political extensions of the terrorist organization, when speaking about this verdict, said it was an unjust decision; a lawless decision. Respected people of Pinarbasi, we are all in a position of representation. We must act with the consciousness of this. The penalty given to the political extensions of the terrorist organization who acted together to divide Turkey, to fragment it, and to make the people fight each other on October 6-8, when considering more than 50 citizens who lost their lives, is not sufficient. We must express this truth; who supports and walks with these political extensions, the noble stance, sagacity, and virtue of our fellow citizens of Pinarbasi will not allow them in these lands, which are the center of Turkey and Turkishness, and they will show their attitude with their democratic will on June 2.’
