Turkish Red Crescent’s Project of Accessible Catering Vehicle

The Turkish Red Crescent has implemented the Barrier-Free Catering Vehicle project to encourage the participation of disabled individuals in volunteer activities. The Barrier-Free Catering Vehicle supports disabled individuals working shoulder to shoulder with Turkish Red Crescent teams in the field and actively participating in volunteer activities. The vehicle is equipped with a disabled lift compliant with European standards, voice and light call buttons, and embossed labels supported by Braille alphabet.

Hearing-impaired Şule Denli and visually impaired Hamit Alemdaroğlu, volunteers distributing in the Barrier-Free Catering Vehicle, stated that the vehicle is an important step for them. Alemdaroğlu emphasized that the vehicle provides opportunities for disabled individuals to provide services and participate in aid activities.
