Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Continues Road Renovation Works Without Slowing Down

As the summer season approaches, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated large-scale asphalt renewal projects in the districts of Cesme, Karaburun, and Torbali. Within this scope, roads where infrastructure excavations have been completed are being covered with hot asphalt, aiming to make transportation in the city’s touristic and busy areas safer and more comfortable.

Within the works carried out by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality’s IZBETON General Directorate, an asphalt renewal process is being carried out in a 3.1-kilometer area in the Eğlenhoca Neighborhood of Karaburun. This project is being implemented following the infrastructure works carried out by Izmir Water and Sewerage Administration (IZSU). Thus, it is aimed to provide a safer and more comfortable transportation for the residents and tourists in the region.

The ongoing works in the Dalyan Neighborhood of Cesme cover a total road network of 9 kilometers. In this project, it is planned to renew the roads using 4,500 tons of hot asphalt. Similarly, a 2-kilometer road renewal project is being implemented on Efes Street in the district of Torbali. This street is an important connection road providing transportation for the industrial establishments in the region and is being completely renewed using 4,600 tons of hot asphalt.
