Increasing Success in Domestic Production: Innovation and Investments

Artificial intelligence-based state-of-the-art products that both shorten treatment times and facilitate the work of dentists, as well as oral health and dental materials labeled ‘Made in Turkey,’ are being launched from Istanbul to the world. Erkan Uçar, President of the Dental Materials Industrialists and Businessmen Association, states that the share of domestic production in the industry has reached 25% from 8% in the last five years.

Growing Targets in Exports: The Role of Istanbul

The sector, which closed the year 2023 with $350 million in exports, an increase of 40% from the previous year, is aiming for at least a 40% increase again this year. Working towards the goal of reaching $1 billion by 2028, the sector is increasing its investments in domestic production and innovative products.

International Collaborations and Exhibitions

In addition to country pavilions such as Italy, Korea, China, and Pakistan, the United States took its place as a country pavilion for the first time this year. The art piece ‘A Kinetic Look at Dental Materials,’ created by artist Bünyamin Bozkuş and curated by Archaeologist Dilara Delen, Coordinator of the Oral and Dental Health Museum, drew particular attention from foreigners.
