Ottoman Empire and Governance Approach

“Such a governance system lasting for over 600 years is exceptional”
Former Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay stated, “This great empire established by our ancestors is a great civilization. I see it as the most mature civilization system after all the experiences of Muslim Turks. Recently, a lot of studies have been conducted on this great civilization, and the number of these studies has increased. There are few examples that can be compared with the Ottoman Empire. A system lasting over 600 years is very exceptional. Another aspect of this is that the same dynasty has ruled an empire for such a long time. There is no example of this; this is one of the most original and unique aspects of the Ottomans. When we look at the Ottoman civilization, we cannot see such a pluralistic governance anywhere else. Each segment has survived for many years by living their own religion and language,” he said.
