Students Supported a Child with SMA through Model Making
Students carried out model works to support a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This beautiful and meaningful solidarity example was welcomed by the community with hope and love.

Students of Pirinçli Multi-Program Anatolian High School in Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak put their knowledge into practice for a valuable cause by showcasing various products they made during a school exhibition in the school yard, including model attack helicopters, airplanes, and houses to generate income.
The income generated, especially from popular model airplanes, model attack helicopters, and other works, was used to support a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Students and teachers donated the income they obtained from selling the showcased products for the treatment of SMA patient Sena Bilir.
Teacher Erkan Topuz, who has been working at the village school for 5 years, mentioned that they open an exhibition every year with the students. Topuz stated, “Today, we showcased the products made by our students for a sibling with SMA. With such activities, they not only strengthen their education but also gain social awareness.”
Student Erhan Özdemir emphasized that the work done should not only remain on paper, expressing that they apply the geography topics they learn in class through models.
Student Pervin Gök mentioned that they opened an exhibition focusing on Pamukkale travertines and desertification worldwide. Gök said, “As students, we wanted to not only settle for theoretical knowledge but also demonstrate them in practice. This way, our learning process became more permanent, and we supported a beneficial cause.”
