Statement from the Center for Fighting Disinformation

The Disinformation Combat Center (DCC) stated that the claims circulating on social media recently about “Foreign nationals receiving outpatient treatment having their health services, medication, medical devices, orthoses-prostheses, and other expenses covered by the Ministry of Health” do not reflect the truth.

In a statement made by the DCC affiliated with the Presidency Communications Directorate, it was emphasized that the claim circulating on some social media accounts that ‘the treatment expenses of foreign national patients will be covered by the state’ is not true. The mentioned Presidential Decree No. 8438 is not related to refugees or persons under temporary protection in our country. The decision in question covers victims brought to our country from war and disaster areas for treatment under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement highlighted that baseless claims aimed at misleading the public should not be trusted. The DCC pointed out the importance of being cautious against such misinformation to contribute to the public’s access to correct information.
