Hundreds of people gathered in Bursa for Palestinian mothers. On the 218th day of the Israel-Palestine war, prayers were offered for Palestinian mothers and children on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

Solidarity March and Press Statement

As the 218th day of the Israel-Palestine war passed, hundreds of children and civilians lost their lives. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the historic Ulu Mosque in Bursa to come together for Palestinian mothers and children on the occasion of Mother’s Day. The group, starting the march at Orhangazi Park, proceeded to the July 15 Democracy Square accompanied by slogans.

Speech by Platform President Imran Tezcan

Delivering a press statement here, Imran Tezcan, the President of Bursa Volunteer Organizations Platform Women, stated, “For 218 days, the world that witnessed the massacre of all innocents, without discriminating women or children, has been faced with a choice against the glorious Palestinian resistance. Those who tolerate oppression and those who resist oppression. Although we cannot end the oppression, we have gathered once again to shout that we stand with the resisting people of Gaza…”

Message Emphasized by Mothers

Motherhood has gained a different meaning in Gaza. In Gaza, motherhood is bidding farewell to the martyr son to his Lord, rejoicing that there is another son who will become a martyr. In Gaza, motherhood is feeding her orphaned children with great difficulty and being able to stand tall despite everything. In Gaza, motherhood is being able to stand upright in front of the generations that will carry on this cause; with dignity, patience, and resilience.

Solidarity Message

For months, people of all ages, beliefs, and nationalities poured into the streets regardless of snow and winter to be able to say stop to this oppression. No one raised their voice for them. They lay on the snow, demonstrated, staged protests in suburbs, squares, but no one’s voice was heard. But one day, the youth rose up. They stayed in tents on university campuses, at the world’s most prestigious universities, staged demonstrations, and faced police brutality…
