Special Provincial Administration teams have started snow fighting works on the road to Nemrut Crater Lake located in Tatvan district of Bitlis. The road, where the snow thickness reaches 3-4 meters in some places, provides access to the crater lake, which has significant tourism potential.
Special Provincial Administration Teams Accelerate Work
The road opening works, which were interrupted due to snowfall, have been restarted by the Special Provincial Administration teams. Working intensively at the foot of Mount Nemrut, the teams aim to open the road by Sunday. Thus, both domestic and foreign tourists will be able to visit Nemrut Crater Lake.

Nail Aşit, the Chief of the Central Construction Site of the Special Provincial Administration, stated, “As snow fighting teams, we have started the road opening works to Nemrut Crater Lake. We are carrying out a challenging work in the region where the snow thickness reaches 3-4 meters. However, thanks to our dedicated work, we plan to open the road to traffic as soon as possible. We believe that these works will also contribute positively to city tourism.”
