Ayşe Bülbül, the mother of 15-year-old Eren Bülbül, who was martyred by members of a terrorist organization in front of his house in Maçka district of Trabzon on August 11, 2017, has been spending Mother’s Day in sorrow for 6 years. Ayşe Bülbül, who has spent Mother’s Day without Eren for the past 6 years, stated that her wound has not healed but rather keeps bleeding, saying, ‘Eren used to climb to the upper part of our house and pick whatever flowers he could find. In the shanty, he would kneel in front of me and say ‘Mom, you deserve the best flowers but you know I don’t have money, so I picked flowers from the fields and brought them.’ I would hug him with those dirty hands and kiss him. I miss those flowers,’ she said.

Moments Full of Pain and Sorrow

Ayşe Bülbül, the mother of 15-year-old Eren Bülbül, who was martyred along with Staff Sergeant Ferhat Gedik as they were going to show the houses that members of a terrorist organization had entered for theft to the security forces in Köprüyanı neighborhood of Maçka district in Trabzon on August 11, 2017, is spending Mother’s Day in sorrow. Ayşe Bülbül, experiencing emotional moments at her son Eren Bülbül’s grave, said, ‘My child was just a kid. After Eren was martyred, his going to school, report card days, Mother’s Day, birthday, all turned into days of remembrance. Those days always pass with a bitter taste for me. It’s so hard for a mother. But for a mother who doesn’t know, it’s even harder. This pain and sorrow are not things to be expressed, but there is nothing to be done,’ she said.

  • ‘We are devastated, saddened on these special days’

Ayşe Bülbül, stating that all martyr mothers celebrate Mother’s Day, said, ‘My children didn’t even have a single coin in their pockets. How could a mother expect flowers from a child who had no money in his pocket. Especially Eren would climb to the upper part of our house and pick whatever flowers he could find. In the shanty, he would kneel in front of me and say ‘Mom, you deserve the best flowers but you know I don’t have money, so I picked flowers from the fields and brought them.’ I would hug him with those dirty hands and kiss him. I miss those flowers. After giving the flower, he would return to his work. We are devastated, saddened on these special days. I wish a happy Mother’s Day to all martyr mothers. I kiss their hands and cheeks,’ she stated.
