A dust cloud, which is seen in various regions of Turkey, also affected Hatay. The General Directorate of Meteorology had warned about the dust cloud coming from Syria for the weekend. In Hatay, located at the southernmost part of Turkey, the dust cloud started to have an impact over the weekend. The dust cloud affected the districts of Antakya, Samandağ, Defne, Kırıkhan, and Reyhanlı.
The dust cloud, which caused difficulties for the residents, especially due to ongoing construction works in the city. It was observed that the dust cloud had the city under its influence from Habib-i Neccar Mountain, one of the high points in Antakya.
