Denizkurdu-2/2024 Exercise Has Started
Denizkurdu-2/2024 exercise is a large-scale naval exercise conducted by the Turkish Naval Forces. The exercise, aimed at improving maritime capabilities and coordination at sea, is of great importance in the international arena.
The Denizkurdu-2 Exercise, which took place at the Marmaris Aksaz Naval Base between 7-18 May 2024, as part of the 2024 naval operations training activities of the Naval Forces Command, has started successfully.
Participation in the Exercise
A total of 15,000 personnel from the Naval Forces Command, Air Force Command, and Coast Guard Command are participating in the Denizkurdu-II Exercise. The exercise includes 100 surface vessels, 8 submarines, 39 aircraft, 16 helicopters, 28 unmanned aerial vehicles, and other elements.
Exercise Content:
- Improving the judgment skills of the headquarters personnel
- Operational training in a highly threatening environment
- Testing joint interoperability procedures
- Port visits
- Exclusive observer day and press day activities
Inventory Elements:
- New ‘Marlin UUV’ and 6 kamikaze ‘Albatros UUV’
- Attack aircraft and other elements from the Air Force Command
- 6 coast guard boats from the Coast Guard Command
