AFAD Volunteering System and Training Activities

Samsun AFAD continues its training and exercises for combating natural disasters and chemical outbreaks. As part of disaster awareness training, a CBRN intervention exercise was conducted for personnel from 8 provinces. In addition to training, AFAD continues its efforts to raise public awareness about disasters and disaster awareness training. Furthermore, AFAD aims to train and prepare AFAD volunteers through the volunteering system, with the goal of creating a prepared society against disasters.

The Deputy Director of AFAD in Samsun, Seyit Ahmet Seldüz, stated, “Our goal is to raise disaster awareness in society and educate citizens on displaying correct behaviors. In our training sessions, we not only create disaster awareness but also explain the AFAD volunteering system. Through earthquake and search and rescue training, we strive to ensure that our citizens are prepared for disasters,” he said.

Samsun AFAD continues its efforts to achieve the goal of 100,000 search and rescue and 100,000 support AFAD volunteers. AFAD teams aim to increase the number of volunteers and strengthen disaster response capacity through regular training.
