Başakşehir Municipality Mayor Met Special Children During the Disability Week

Mayor of Başakşehir, Yasin Kartoğlu, met with special children and young people within the scope of the May 10-16 Disabled Week. Mayor Kartoğlu, engaging in social activities with the youth, also planted tomato seedlings in the hobby garden.

Social Awareness Activities

Continuously adding new social awareness activities, Başakşehir Municipality carries out meaningful work for individuals with disabilities throughout the district. Mayor Kartoğlu spent enjoyable time with special children and young people at the Disability-Free Life Center during social activities organized together.

Stating that they work in every field for their neighbors, Mayor Kartoğlu mentioned providing support in guidance, social assistance, medical supplies, repair, and maintenance. Additionally, he emphasized their efforts in finding solutions to transportation problems of special neighbors.

Activities at the Disability-Free Life Center

Mayor Kartoğlu stated that they carry out various projects at the Disability-Free Life Center to support special children and young people in discovering their talents and socializing. Among the projects are “Your Voice, My Book” and various workshops.

Disability-Free Break Cafe and Hobby Garden

Mayor Kartoğlu, after treating the youth with lemonade at the Disability-Free Life Center’s Disability-Free Break Cafe, moved to the hobby garden and planted tomato seedlings with the young people. They experienced the joy of being together with the youth in this activity.
