Restoration works initiated for the cracks on the walls of Ankara Castle, one of the symbols of the capital city, were captured from the air. Stone cleaning, joint, and rod works are being carried out on the castle walls dating back to the 5th century BC and repaired during the Roman period.

Bekir Ödemiş, the Head of Cultural and Natural Heritage Department of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, provided information about the restoration works, stating that after the authorization for the works in Ankara Castle was transferred to the municipality, both lighting and strengthening works have started in the area.

Ödemiş expressed that the works will be completed by 2024 and the cracks on the front facade of the castle walls will be eliminated. Additionally, he mentioned that along with the wall works in the castle, lighting works will also be completed this year, illuminating Ankara Castle.
