AK Party Vice President Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya met with mothers who lost their children in the February 6 earthquakes. Kaya said, ‘As a mother, I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child.’
Solidarity with Earthquake Victims on Mother’s Day
AK Party Vice President Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya attended the program ‘Meeting with Precious Mothers who Lost their Children in the Earthquake’ organized by the AK Party Kahramanmaras Women’s Branch on ‘Mother’s Day’.
Living Solidarity and Hope Together
Kaya expressed that Mother’s Day in earthquake regions passed with a heavy heart this year and prayed for the souls lost in the earthquakes. ‘We want you to see that there are women who empathize with your sorrows.’
Kaya stated that they were here to alleviate the spiritual pains of earthquake-stricken mothers. ‘We have experienced great sorrows, may Allah not make us go through such pains again. We used to frequently visit Kahramanmaras before the earthquake; we stayed here for a month after the earthquake and mobilized with our organization. We united to heal the wounds of our Kahramanmaras brothers and sisters, our pains are still very fresh.’
As a mother, I truly cannot even imagine the pain of losing a child right now. But we are here today so that we can be by your side, to show you that you are never alone, and to let you see that there are women who empathize with your sorrows. On this Mother’s Day, our organizations and members of parliament are present in all 81 provinces of Turkey, they are here to share your sorrows.’

Since the first moment of the earthquake, we established a crisis desk under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. From that day to today, our President and all institutions of our state are meticulously working to find solutions to your sorrows.’
