After Can Cangök

Can Cangök (64), one of the legendary captains of Balıkesirspor who also served as a coach, passed away due to a sudden illness. Cangök, who wore the Balıkesirspor jersey for many years, had left a great legacy in the football community.

Hundreds of Balıkesir residents and sports fans gathered at Zağnos Paşa Mosque for the funeral prayer to pay their final respects to Can Cangök. Following the funeral prayer, Cangök’s body was laid to rest at Çınarlıdere Cemetery.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın, Karesi Mayor Mesut Akbıyık, Altıeylül Mayor Hakan Şehirli, former Susurluk Mayor Nurettin Güney, ASFK President Metin Mengüç, Balıkesirspor President Nedim Öner, board members, and former Balıkesirspor Club Presidents attended Can Cangök’s funeral.

Those who attended the funeral expressed their condolences to the Cangök family, showing their support to his son Orçun Cangök and brother Günay Cangök. Can Cangök will continue to be remembered as an unforgettable figure in the Balıkesirspor community, both for his football career and coaching experience.
