The Dog Named Diren Became the Mascot of Isparta

11 years ago in Isparta, a dog named Diren became the mascot of the city thanks to the help of the stationery shop owner and employees after becoming paralyzed in an accident.

The Care and Love of the Rescuers

A Golden breed dog paralyzed in the hind legs as a result of a traffic accident 11 years ago in Isparta was adopted by the owner and employees of a stationery shop in the city center. After providing the necessary physical and medical treatments to the dog, it was named ‘Diren’.

Care and Treatment Process

Nurullah Sayınbaş stated that they have been taking care of Diren for 11 years, ‘After the accident he had as a puppy which left his hind legs paralyzed, we provided the necessary care and treatment for Diren. After the dog regained its health, it became the mascot of Isparta.’

Diren’s Special Walker

Sayınbaş mentioned that they had a special walker made for Diren to be able to walk and run, ‘We do not use a walker that restricts the movement of Diren according to his age and health condition. When he first arrived, Diren could run, but now, due to old age, his movements are restricted.’

The Love and Care of People

Sayınbaş talked about the love and interest shown by the people of Isparta towards Diren, ‘Our customers and passers-by often ask about Diren. People visit our shop to pet the dog. There are even those who don’t want to leave Diren without showing affection. We cover all his needs and care.’
