New Tourism Strategies for Cappadocia
New strategies are being determined to increase the tourism potential of Cappadocia. The region, famous for its natural beauties, is getting ready to offer visitors unique experiences.

The ‘Nevşehir Province Tourism Master Plan’ has been prepared in order to diversify tourism in Cappadocia and increase the promotion of the region internationally. The plan is being implemented through the leadership of the Cappadocia Area Directorate in collaboration with Cappadocia University and Nevşehir Governorship.
Targeted Tourism Activities
Within the master plan, the aim is to evaluate the tourism potential of the Cappadocia region in the best possible way and to promote sustainable tourism activities. The plan focuses on the preservation and development of touristic values.
Diversified Tourism Opportunities
In 2013, Cappadocia hosted approximately 5 million tourists, and diversifying the target markets of Cappadocia is planned. Sporting activity routes will be established, nature and biking trails, as well as camping facilities, will be developed. Additionally, eco and agro-tourism activities will be supported.
Investment in Cultural Heritage
The master plan also aims to increase tourism related to intangible cultural heritage. Awareness campaigns will be conducted to preserve the historical texture of Cappadocia and to highlight the region’s cultural richness.
Collaboration and Protocol
During the signing ceremony held at the Nevşehir Provincial House, Nevşehir Governor Ali Fidan and Cappadocia Area Director Birol İnceciköz emphasized the importance of the master plan and signed a collaboration and protocol agreement. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar, the Rector of Cappadocia University, stated that the plan will provide coordination between the public and private sectors.
