At the ‘One Heart for Palestine’ march organized by the clubs of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Israel’s attacks on Palestine were protested. Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, academics, administrative staff, and students participated in the march held at the Central Campus of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University.

March and Protests

Following the march where attacks were condemned by chanting slogans against Israel, İbrahim Gök, speaking on behalf of the students, said that Israel is committing genocide against Palestine in front of the world. Gök stated, ‘From October 7th until today, for over 6 months, the systematic genocide carried out by the terrorist network Israel continues with the bloodiest atrocities in human history. Against the bloodiest genocide in human history where more than 15,000 children and over 10,000 women have been killed, hospitals targeted, and newborn babies brutally murdered, it is fundamental for every individual on earth to react as the voice of human dignity.’

Solidarity and Reactions

Since the beginning of Israel’s bloody terrorist acts, people worldwide have shown great reactions against the Zionists’ genocide. Most recently, students and academics at prestigious universities in the USA have initiated an honorable resistance against the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza for over 200 days. The actions referred to as ‘Campus Intifada’ that started at universities in the USA have spread to prestigious universities in different countries, turning into a global reaction. We hereby declare our support for this honorable reaction.

Rector’s Statements

Rector Hasan Uslu said, ‘There is an oppression in Palestine. To stand against this, as independent, free, and individuals with free will, we raised our voice at our university. We believe that this genocide will end soon. I want to emphasize that we are against this genocide.’
