İzmir is Hosting Clean Energy at WENERGY Expo

Izmir, the capital of clean energy, is hosting the WENERGY-Clean Energy Technologies Fair for the second time. The opening speech of the fair was delivered by Mehmet Öğütçü, President of the London Energy Club. Öğütçü emphasized the importance of taking significant steps towards sustainable energy, stating that Izmir is the largest electricity producer in Turkey.

WENERGY Expo and Congress Started in Izmir

Hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized in collaboration with IZFAS, BIFAS, and EFOR Fair Organization, the WENERGY – 2nd Clean Energy Technologies Fair opened its doors at fuarizmir. Industry stakeholders, international buyers, and investors come together at the fair to exchange information about clean energy technologies. Moreover, industry leaders will deliver speeches at various sessions during the congress.

Mehmet Öğütçü: “Izmir is truly the capital of clean energy. Currently, Izmir is the largest producer in energy, with a rate of meeting 66% of its consumption. Taking advantage of this, steps should be taken to ensure sustainable energy.”

Öğütçü: “Throughout the history of the world, we have never been without energy, but what is important is to preserve the ecological balance of our planet. We must continue the transition to green energy in a sustainable and economical manner by keeping pace with the rapidly changing dynamics in the energy sector.”
