Expert Presentations and Evaluations

The briefing meeting on ‘Evaluation of Bingöl Geothermal Resources’ was held under the chairmanship of Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta. At the meeting where Bingöl geothermal resources were thoroughly discussed and evaluated, experts from the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration and Prof. Dr. Alper Baba made presentations. Prof. Baba, who shared information on Bingöl’s geothermal resources, stated that Bingöl is in a rich position in terms of geothermal well maintenance and emphasized that greenhouse cultivation, thermal tourism, heating, and cooling can be carried out in the Bingöl region.

Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta, who made statements at the meeting, said they received detailed information for the utilization of resources in the region for the benefit of the economy. Governor Usta stated, ‘We have a geographically rich area in terms of geothermal resources. It is necessary to transform the strong potential of our province’s geothermal resources into more active and value-added parameters for tourism and economy through effective projects.’

The meeting held at the Governorship was attended by Bingöl Mayor Erdal Arıkan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Çiftçi from Bingöl University, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Baba from Izmir Institute of Technology, experts from the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration, as well as representatives of stakeholder institutions and civil society organizations.
