Gazan Mothers and Israeli Oppression: Call by AK Party Women’s Branch President Esra Doğan Candan
The painful story of Gazan mothers and the strong call of Esra Doğan Candan, the President of the AK Party Women’s Branch, against the Israeli oppression. Let’s unite to fight against the crimes committed by Israel against innocent people.

AK Party Konya Women’s Branch President Esra Doğan Candan: We Will Not Stay Silent
AK Party Konya Women’s Branch President Esra Doğan Candan stated that they will not stay silent for the mothers of Gaza, saying, ‘According to the report of the United Nations women’s unit, 9,000 women have died in Gaza. An average of 63 women still die every day, and 37 of them are mothers.’
Statement by AK Party Central Women’s Branch
Simultaneously in 81 provinces, a statement was made by the AK Party Central Women’s Branch on ‘mothers whose right to life is taken away in Gaza.’ The press release organized at Kültürpark by AK Party Konya Provincial Women’s Branch President Esra Doğan Candan was attended by AK Party Konya Provincial President Hasan Angı, party members, and women.
Mother’s Day and the Ordeal of Gaza Mothers
AK Party Konya Women’s Branch President Esra Doğan Candan reminded that Sunday is Mother’s Day, saying, ‘Sunday is Mother’s Day. Everywhere has been in a sweet hustle for days. Mother’s Day is also a heavy ordeal for orphans and mothers who have lost their children. Yet, in the middle of the world, in Palestine, in Gaza, in Rafah, being a mother has never been this difficult. Today, we are waiting for our children coming home from school, while Gaza mothers are waiting to give a piece of bread to their children. While we write names on our children’s notebooks and books so they don’t get mixed up, Gaza mothers write names on their children’s arms so that their bodies can be identified. As a woman, as a mother, I state very clearly; every life is unique, every life is precious, and whoever takes a life has harmed all of humanity.’
Call and Call to Israel
Branch President Candan said, ‘As mothers, we once again call on Israel; we are waiting for a step for a ceasefire. Despite all the oppression and pain, Palestinian mothers who stand tall for their children, their country, will eventually prevail. The resistance will not end before the mothers do, and as women whose hearts beat for Gaza mothers, we cry out: How long will this oppression continue? Enough, Israel, stop your bloody hands from civilians, mothers, and children.’
