EİT 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital Coordination Center Opened
EİT 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital Coordination Center has been established as a center aiming to increase the tourism potential of Erzurum. It plays a role in shedding light on the future of tourism in Erzurum.

The opening ceremony of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital Coordination Center Office was held with a ceremony. Following Erzurum being selected as the ‘ECO 2025 Tourism Capital’ at the 4th ECO Tourism Ministers Meeting hosted by Uzbekistan, the efforts and preparations have been rapidly continuing.
Attendance to the Opening Ceremony
The opening program was attended by Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, AK Party Erzurum Deputies Selami Altınok, Mehmet Emin Öz, and Abdurrahim Fırat, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Provincial Gendarmerie Regiment Commander Brigadier General Metin Düz, Provincial Police Chief Kadir Yırtar, Rector of Erzurum Technical University Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, AK Party Provincial Chairman İbrahim Küçükoğlu, President of Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Saim Özakalın, district mayors, public institution and organization managers, citizens, and invitees.
Vision and Goals
The Coordinator of ECO 2025 Erzurum Tourism Capital, Muharrem Çığlık, stated at the opening of the Coordination Center Office that the tourism sector is one of the most active sectors in the world in terms of employment opportunities and volume it reaches worldwide. Çığlık emphasized that the infrastructure, environment, promotion, and investment activities carried out in line with Erzurum’s goal of diversifying tourism will significantly contribute to the city.
