Inspection and Demolition Process
It was stated that the building in Hacıosman, which has been in rough construction for 34 years, recently started completion construction to be converted into a residence. However, after complaints about the 27-storey rough construction building with a Bosphorus view, municipal teams started an inspection. The building, which was found to be corroded, was described as ‘not earthquake resistant’ and a demolition decision was made. Yesterday, municipal teams went to inspect the building with the police and stopped all activities on the construction site.
Salim Akın, who has been running a business in Sarıyer for 20 years, stated that the construction of the building started in 1993 and there were occasional pauses. Akın argued that the columns of the building were solid and expressed his disbelief that there would be a demolition. After the inspections, the question of when the building will be demolished became a matter of curiosity.
