The construction of the Yusufeli Viaduct in the Yusufeli district of Artvin, within the scope of the completed Yusufeli Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) project, is approaching completion. As part of this major project, the viaduct constructed is nearing completion, while asphalt works are rapidly continuing.

Due to the Yusufeli Dam and HPP project, which is built on the Coruh River and is Turkey’s highest dam with a height of 275 meters and the fifth highest dam worldwide, Yusufeli district center along with seven villages were submerged. After the handover ceremony held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the residents who had to evacuate their homes were relocated to new settlements. The construction of the viaduct that will connect the new district center to the existing road network has also reached its final stages.

The Yusufeli Viaduct, with a height of approximately 150 meters and a length of 685 meters, was built using a balanced cantilever and cast-in-place system. The viaduct, constructed with the latest technology that does not require a scaffold leg, was successfully completed in challenging terrain conditions.

While asphalt works continue, the viaduct was captured from the air.
