Following the warning from the Meteorology, a severe storm hit the Eastern Mediterranean. While the waves along the coast of Mersin rose up to 2-3 meters, a sightseeing boat ran aground in the tourism region of Kızkalesi.

Strong winds and storms affected Mersin from the early hours of the morning. During the storm in the Eastern Mediterranean, waves reaching up to 1 to 3 meters in some areas violently hit the shores. Due to the storm, the Mersin Governorship announced that the storm blowing at speeds of 50 to 75 kilometers per hour according to the data of the Meteorology 6th Regional Directorate would be of intensity 6 to 8, and warned the citizens against adversities.

Yüksel Ak, who came to visit the Kızkalesi region, stated that the wind blew fiercely and the wave height caused the boat to run aground.
