Sheep Died Due to Lack of Oxygen in Erciş

In the tragic incident that took place in the district of Erciş in Van, the sheep, which were locked in the barns in the evening, died from lack of air.
In the village of Aşağı Göze, affiliated with Erciş, the tragic incident occurred. Approximately 180 sheep were locked in the barns and checked by their owner in the morning. Erdal Bayramhan was shocked when he opened the barn door and encountered the scene. Seeing the lifeless bodies of dozens of sheep, Bayramhan immediately informed the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Erciş Municipality teams.
The teams from the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, who arrived at the scene, determined that the sheep died from lack of air during their examination and prepared the necessary reports. Some of the dead sheep were slaughtered and distributed to neighbors, while others were buried in pits opened with the help of an excavator.
The owner of the sheep, Erdal Bayramhan, expressed his grief with the following words: ‘When I arrived at the barn in the morning, I saw that 140 out of 180 sheep had died. The agricultural teams of the district confirmed that the sheep died from lack of air upon the examination. Moreover, it was revealed that most of the deceased animals were pregnant. Following this tragic incident, we are expecting support from the authorities for our deceased animals.’
