Mother’s Day Market Celebrated Colorfully in Atakum

In the special Mother’s Day event organized in Atakum district, women exhibited their handmade products and enjoyed a fun time at the market. This special event was organized in collaboration with Atakum Municipality, CHP Atakum Women’s Branch, and Atakum City Council Women’s Branch.

Opening Ceremony and Speeches

An opening ceremony was held at the market and Atakum Deputy Mayor Halil Taşkın, in his speech, stated, ‘As you receive compensation for your labor, as you create, you become more beautiful. You are all jewels. Being productive and supporting women who produce is our greatest goal.’ Emine Kandemir, the President of CHP Atakum District Women’s Branch, mentioned that mothers showcased their handmade products at the event specially organized for Mother’s Day to make a profit.

Women’s Handmade Products and Event Details

Sevtap Gökduman from Atakum City Council Women’s Board emphasized that all products exhibited at the event were handmade by women. In the market where various products such as pastries, stone painting, jewelry, and clothes were showcased, women came together and offered their handmade products for sale.

Women who danced traditional folk dance ‘horon’ at the event had enjoyable moments, and it was stated that the market would remain open for 4 days. Participants expressed that the purpose of the event was to celebrate Mother’s Day, bring women together, and promote handmade products.
