Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced that there have been positive developments in the foreign exchange position of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.

The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, shared the positive developments in the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). Minister Şimşek stated that the CBRT’s foreign exchange position has significantly improved in recent times.
In a statement on his social media account, Minister Şimşek said, “CBRT’s foreign exchange position is improving, excluding swaps, net reserves have increased by 26.7 billion dollars since the beginning of April. Our program is working, the current account deficit is decreasing with rebalancing, macro-financial stability is strengthening, and confidence is increasing. The declining need for external financing and the accelerated inflow of external resources will continue the positive trend in reserves,” he said.
