Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education continues to make a difference in education with the projects it carries out. It introduced the education projects implemented throughout the province.

A promotional meeting was organized by the Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education for the projects supported within the scope of TUBITAK Science and Society Projects; 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program and 4005 Innovative Education Practices Support Program. Speaking at the launch, Dr. Ömer Yahşi, the Director of Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education, said, ‘We have very successful studies on artificial intelligence and climate. This success is not only Izmir’s but also Turkey’s success. We expect our students to multiply and improve this success internationally.’

Success is Turkey’s Value

In his speech, the Director of Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education, Dr. Ömer Yahşi, stated that Izmir’s children have achieved success by giving positive responses to TUBITAK calls. He emphasized that students who ranked first in two fields have carried out important studies on artificial intelligence and climate. He expressed that the success is not only Izmir’s but also Turkey’s success.

Objectives of the Projects

Project Coordinator of Izmir Provincial Directorate of National Education, Seyran Yozgatlı, explained the objectives of the projects, ‘Scientific activities targeting different segments are aimed with the Science and Society Support Programs. The programs include Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program, Innovative Education Practices Support Program, TUBITAK Science Fairs Support Program, Science Festivals Support Program, and Inclusive Community Practices for Individuals with Special Needs Support Program.’

125 Projects Supported under the Directorate

Yozgatlı stated that 125 projects were supported, mentioning that Izmir participated in the program with 4 projects, and 3 of them belonged to the Provincial Directorate. She also added that the Innovative Education Practices project aims to provide innovative approaches to teachers and academicians.
