International Management, Economics, and Business Congress Started in Zonguldak

The second International Congress on Management, Economics, and Business, hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ), has begun. The congress started with a moment of silence and the national anthem at the ZBEÜ Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center.

Opening Speeches and Participants

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ferda Çakmak, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, delivered the opening speech, stating that 183 participants from more than 55 universities will present 137 papers at the congress. Çakmak emphasized that interdisciplinary sessions with academics from various fields of science will take place.

Speech by ZBEÜ Acting Rector Hakan Kutoğlu

ZBEÜ Acting Rector Hakan Kutoğlu highlighted the congress tourism that has been happening in Zonguldak recently due to the university’s organized congresses. Kutoğlu warned about the role of economists in the world economy and environmental crises.

Pointing out that economists introduced derivative products after World War II, leading to the growth of a monster in the world economy, Kutoğlu stated that economists govern the world. Emphasizing the importance of cyclical economic methods, Kutoğlu highlighted the necessity of developing sustainable economic models.

Academic Presentations and Continuation

The opening ceremony of the congress continued with the presentations by Prof. Dr. Kemal Yıldırım on ‘Macroeconomic Models in the Historical Development Process’ and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Erçek on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Turkey: Situation Analysis and Recommendations’.
