Hakkari’s Yüksekova District Covered in 5 Meters of Snow

In the high parts of Yüksekova district of Hakkari, teams continue their struggles despite the month of May. The teams of Hakkari Provincial Administration General Secretariat and Yüksekova District Special Administration Directorate Site Chief are tirelessly working to clear the snow-covered roads in Doski Valley, Büyükçiftlik, and Esendere neighborhoods.

The teams are facing a challenging battle against snow masses reaching up to 5 meters in some places. They continue their road opening efforts using excavators in areas where shovels are not sufficient.

Although it is May, the snowy roads resembling tunnels in the region are astonishing those who see them. Visitors prefer to immortalize this extraordinary view by taking photographs.

The snow removal teams state that snow clearing efforts are ongoing in various parts of Yüksekova even in the month of May. Despite these harsh conditions, the teams expressed their determination to continue working diligently in the battle against snow.
