Bear Rescue Operation
Detailed information about the bear rescue operation. Operations and precautions taken to rescue bears safely without removing them from their natural habitats.

Information was provided about the condition of the injured bear rescued from the stream bed where it was stranded as a result of the operation carried out by the Gendarmerie and Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) teams.
Development of the Incident
It was stated that the bear, injured after being hit by a car on the Bursa-Uludağ road, was rescued through an operation by the Gendarmerie and DKMP teams. Fragmented fractures were detected in the bear’s hip bone.
Rescue Operation
During the rescue operation that lasted throughout the night, the Gendarmerie Environmental Protection Team and Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) teams formed a team of 20 people in the field to track the bear. Despite the bear’s attempt to escape into the stream bed, it was cornered by the teams and tranquilized with a sedative injection.
Treatment of the Bear
The bear, taken to Uludağ University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, was examined by veterinarians. Fractures in the hip bone were identified as a result of the X-ray, and the bear underwent surgery. After the completion of the treatment process, the bear will be transferred to the Karacabey Ovakorusu Celal Acar Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center.
Future of the Bear
The bear, who will receive treatment at the rescue and rehabilitation center, is planned to be carefully monitored by experts, healed, and released back into the wild.
