2. Twin Hill Health Summit

Delegation from 20 different countries will come to Samsun for the 2nd Ikiztepe Health Summit to be held in Samsun. The meeting discussing the preparations of the summit, organized by the Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON), took place under the chairmanship of Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı on 16-18 May 2024. OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal, Deputy Governor/Canik District Governor Vehbi Bakır, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Necmi Çamaş, ASKON President Ahmet Alp Doğru, and other relevant individuals attended the meeting.

Preparations and Objectives

An announcement made by the Samsun Governorate stated that the human skeletons with brain surgery performed excavated in the Ikiztepe archaeological excavations represent the beginning of Samsun’s health history. The summit, taking its name from the historical heritage in Bafra district, Ikiztepe, is organized. Samsun is taking steps to have a greater say in the world by transitioning to new technologies and products in medical device production. The city has been playing an active role in the field of health for years and maintaining its pioneering position with high-level investments. The 2nd Ikiztepe Health Summit will address topics such as health technologies, clustering in health services, quality-accreditation in health, pharmaceutical and medical device industry, and health tourism. Delegations from 20 different countries are expected to attend the summit.
