Traditional Honamlı Tekesi and Koç Beauty Contest in Burdur

The beauty contest where Honamlı goats and rams compete, which is organized every year in Burdur and has become a tradition, was once again a colorful event this year. The competition received great interest from small livestock breeders.

Awards and Donations in the Beauty Contest

While the top three goat and sheep breeders were awarded in the competition, the income from the symbolic auction of a lamb for 108,000 TL was donated to LÖSEV.

Details and Evaluation Criteria of the Contest

In the competition held in the Teke region of Burdur, the jury members evaluated the animals based on criteria such as body measurements, age, horn structure, breed characteristics, and body harmony.

Animals and Breeders Placing in the Competition

• The goat bred by Kamil Akyol, which ranked first in the Honamlı goat category
• The ram bred by Kamil Akyol, which ranked first in the Merinos ram competition
• The animals and breeders placing second and third

At the end of the competition, the breeders who placed in the competition shared their emotions and participation processes.
