Meteorology Expert Yusuf Ziya Yavuz made important statements about the weekend weather. Yavuz stated that thunderstorms are expected throughout the country on Saturday, except for the southern Aegean coasts on Sunday.
Precipitation Forecast
On Saturday, heavy rainfall is expected in the west of Marmara in Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, and Edirne, while thunderstorms are predicted in the Eastern Mediterranean region. In the Central Anatolia Region, heavy rainfall will be observed in the surroundings of Niğde, Kayseri, and Sivas, as well as the northern parts of Konya.
Regional Forecasts
- Locally heavy rainfall is expected in the inland areas of the Central and Eastern Black Sea.
- Heavy rainfall is expected in general in Eastern Anatolia and in the east of Southeastern Anatolia in the surroundings of Batman and Siirt.
Temperature Changes
Yusuf Ziya Yavuz mentioned that temperatures will drop nationwide on Saturday and are expected to decrease further on Sunday, especially in the western regions with strong northerly winds. He noted that temperatures will significantly drop next week nationwide.
Special Forecasts for Istanbul and Ankara
Yavuz stated that rain is expected in Istanbul and temperatures will be around 17-18 degrees, with nighttime temperatures around 12-13 degrees. He also expressed that temperatures will drop in Ankara, and they expect it to drop to 2 degrees on the night between Sunday and Monday.
