Heavy Rain Turns Roads into Lakes in Erdek

Heavy rainfall in the district of Erdek in Balıkesir caused the roads to turn into lakes. This natural event put drivers and pedestrians in a difficult situation.

A sudden heavy rain hit Erdek during noon, catching the citizens unprepared. Life in the city center came to a standstill. Large puddles formed in Pazar Meydanı and Hükümet Caddesi, some businesses were submerged underwater. Drivers had difficulty moving on the water-filled roads. It was observed that some citizens were caught unprepared for the rain; they had to put plastic bags over their shoes. The city came to a temporary halt due to the effects of the rain.

This scene repeated after every heavy rain in Erdek brought the citizens to the point of rebellion. The importance of taking precautions against natural events was once again emphasized.
