Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated that they have started working on enabling Turkish citizens living abroad to handle their work and social security matters digitally.
UID Capacity Development and Training Workshop
It was reported that many prominent figures participated in the Capacity Development and Training Workshop organized by the International Democrats Union in Ankara. Minister Işıkhan announced the participation of AK Party Women’s Branch President Ayşe Keşir and Turkish citizens living abroad in the workshop.
Services Provided to Turkish Citizens Living Abroad
Minister Işıkhan stated that they provide services to citizens in 29 countries through 57 overseas units, focusing on work, employment, social security, family, and social issues. He mentioned that they address the problems of Turkish citizens living abroad.
Challenges Faced by Turkish Citizens Living Abroad
Minister Işıkhan expressed that Turkish citizens living abroad face economic, social, and cultural challenges. He emphasized the increasing problems of discrimination, xenophobia, racism, and their efforts to support citizens in these matters.
Digitalization and Facilitating Services
Minister Işıkhan mentioned that efforts are being made for Turkish citizens living abroad to handle their work and social security procedures digitally. Furthermore, he stated that the government is increasing the facilities provided to retirees living abroad and striving to make services more effective.
