The “Forest is Mine” campaign, initiated in Kırıkkale to raise social awareness, brought together students and citizens. Participants collected glass, plastic bottles, and other waste that could cause forest fires from the forested area.

The “Forest is Mine” campaign, aimed at raising awareness to prevent forest fires in 81 provinces, also saw intense participation from Kırıkkale. Deputy governors, institution directors, students, and citizens came together at the event held in Millet Forest.

Organized by the Forest Management Directorate, the event involved cleaning up glass, plastic bottles, other waste, and materials that pose a fire risk from nature. In addition, the directorate’s staff pruned dry branches on trees to maintain the forest.

Forest Management Director Atilla Yılmaz, in his speech at the event, pointed out the statistics of the last 10 years of fires, emphasizing that 90% of forest fires are caused by humans.
