In the village of Görece in the district of Hizan in Bitlis, 65-year-old Nasır Bülbül has been unreachable since March 21. When the relatives could not get any news from the elderly man, they reported the situation to the gendarmerie.
Gendarmerie teams found a jacket and false teeth belonging to the elderly man by the stream near the village. However, even after several days, Nasır Bülbül could not be reached.
Şerif Ekinci, the President of the Hizan Search and Rescue Association, stated that the search operations they carried out with AFAD and gendarmerie teams were inconclusive. Ekinci said, ‘Search and rescue operations are facing great difficulties due to the excessive flow of water and the dangerous structure of the terrain. Search activities will resume after the rainfall stops.’
