The Metatech Star team, consisting of students from Gaziosmanpasa Science and Art Center (BILSEM), achieved first place in the International Robot Olympiad held in Greece. Standing out among 1,400 teams from 60 countries, the team claimed the first spot in the Design Challenge category, proudly representing Turkey.
The Diligence and Determination of the Students
Eylül Yenice, a 7th-grade student who won the championship in the competition, emphasized the effort they put in as a team by stating, ‘We came here by working very hard.’ Advisor teacher Selen Özge Yaman pointed out the challenging preparation process and highlighted the significance of the team’s success, expressing hope for their future achievements.
The organizer of the competition, Ioannis Karouzakis, stated, ‘Today, there were 1,400 teams from 60 countries. It is not possible for me to remember every team. But I know this team. I am very pleased to be an organizer in such an event. In this competition, children felt like they were in a sports competition. I congratulate the team for their efforts.’
