Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they have decided to start direct flights between Trabzon and Saudi Arabia. Thanks to these flights, direct travel opportunities from Trabzon to Jeddah and Riyadh will be provided throughout the summer. Additionally, there has been a request for flights from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Trabzon, and it was announced that these flights will also start soon.

Rise in Trabzon Tourism

Last year, Turkey’s tourism revenues significantly increased due to investments in transportation infrastructure. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the efforts made to increase Trabzon’s tourism potential, stating that the number of visitors to the city in 2023 showed a significant increase. He also shared information about a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting important tourist attractions such as the Sumela Monastery.

Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the importance of spreading tourism in Trabzon throughout the four seasons, emphasizing the need for the city’s unique nature and rich cultural heritage to extend the tourism season not only to the summer months but to every season of the year. Trabzon Airport Expansion Works

Minister Uraloğlu announced that the expansion works at Trabzon Airport are ongoing and that the new airport project has been included in the investment program. As a result of the expansion works to be carried out, Trabzon Airport will reach a capacity to accommodate 15 million passengers per year. He stated that these developments will make significant contributions to Trabzon’s tourism and economy.
