Fire at the Electric Bicycle Factory Brought Under Control
The fire at the electric bicycle factory was brought under control by the fire brigade teams. Rapid intervention at the scene prevented a major disaster.
A fire that broke out at the Arora electric bicycle factory located on the Tarsus road in Adana was brought under control after a challenging intervention by the firefighting teams for 2.5 hours.
It was reported that the fire started for an as yet undetermined reason and rapidly spread, engulfing the entire factory. In addition to the Adana Metropolitan Municipality firefighting teams, support vehicles from the districts were used to combat the fire. A total of 40 fire trucks, Adana Metropolitan Municipality and Forestry Regional Directorate’s bulldozers, 6 TOMAs belonging to the Provincial Security Directorate, and many other construction machines were used in the firefighting efforts.
To prevent the fire from spreading to other factories, trenches were dug around the burning factory by construction machinery as a precautionary measure.
While a large part of the factory was completely burned down, hundreds of electric bicycles inside suffered damage. Some bicycles rescued by the factory workers were removed from the fire without being affected.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, while cooling efforts are reported to be continuing.
