Birthday Surprise

Ramazan, a 23-year-old with Down syndrome living in Adana, had never celebrated his birthday throughout his life. However, thanks to the initiative of his mother, Feride Elçiçek, an unforgettable surprise was prepared for Ramazan’s 23rd birthday.

Ramazan, the eldest child of the Elçiçek family living in Koza Mahallesi in the central Yüreğir district, was born with Down syndrome. Due to financial difficulties and health problems, his family had never been able to celebrate Ramazan’s birthday.

Surprise Party and Happiness

Feride Elçiçek, who reached out to the Ogün Abi Association operating in Adana last month, expressed her desire to celebrate her son’s birthday. The association promptly organized a special birthday party for Ramazan with Down syndrome. A cake was brought, surprises were prepared, and Ramazan’s happiness was evident in his eyes.

Ogün Abi Association President Ogün Sever Okur helped Ramazan cut his birthday cake. After blowing out the candles, Ramazan took the first bite of his cake himself. These moments were filled with emotional moments for Feride Elçiçek and the association officials.

Mother Elçiçek expressed her feelings by saying, “I was very touched. Ramazan is my most precious. Seeing his happiness today made me very happy. It was a very special moment for me to celebrate my son’s birthday for the first time.”

President Okur expressed great happiness in witnessing Ramazan’s joy, saying, “It was truly meaningful to be by Ramazan’s side on this special day and witness his happiness. We will continue to celebrate the birthdays of children living in disadvantaged areas in the future.”
